To acquaint students with basic concepts and quantities used in financial calculations. Explain and show students practical applications of using different types of interest rates for calculations. Explain to students the principle of time value of money and its use in practice. To acquaint students with different types of pensions and to show the use of calculations in practical applications on examples. Using the techniques discussed, show students the principles of calculating the returns of various investments using the effective interest rate. Explain to students the procedure for evaluating projects and show the use of various evaluation criteria and their calculation.
