The course is intended for international (Erasmus) students and is conducted entirely in English. Its aim is to provide a philosophical reflection on and interpretation of the phenomenon of artificial intelligence. At present, AI permeates and resonates across all spheres of human life—from the scientific and technological, through the cultural and social, to the economic and political—while also being surrounded by numerous unrealistic assumptions and contested expectations.
Within the course, AI will be critically examined from the perspectives of philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, logic, epistemology, and ethics. In addition to analyzing key concepts, contemporary definitions, and dominant paradigms of AI, the course will also introduce classical thought experiments and arguments both in support of and against artificial intelligence.

Předmět je určen pro zahraniční studenty (Erasmus) a je vyučován výhradně v anglickém jazyce. Cílem předmětu je filosofická reflexe a interpretace fenoménu umělé inteligence. Tento fenomén aktuálně prostupuje a rezonuje všemi sférami lidského světa, od vědecko-technologické přes kulturně-společenskou až po ekonomicko-politickou, a zároveň je obestřen množstvím nerealistických představ a sporných očekávání. V rámci předmětu bude UI kriticky zkoumána zejména z pohledu filosofie mysli, filosofie jazyka, logiky, epistemologie a etiky. Vedle analýzy základních pojmů a aktuálních definic a paradigmat UI budou představeny i tradiční myšlenkové experimenty a argumenty proti UI i na její podporu.
