Milí studenti,
Vítám vás v kurzu AST6. Tento kurz je určen studentům vysokých škol technického, zejména strojního zaměření, se středně pokročilou až pokročilou znalostí jazyka. Studenti se naučí komunikovat v technickém pracovním prostředí. Cílem kurzu je vybavit studentyjazykovými kompetencemi na úrovni B1podle
Společného evropského referenčního rámce pro jazyky. -
Pro profesionální praxi je v současné době nezbytná schopnost komunikovat v anglickém jazyce. Mimo jiné se na své profesní dráze jistě setkáte se situací, kdy budete muset v anglickém jazyce také prezentovat .
Předmět AST6 dále prohlubuje jazykové dovednosti zaměřené na profesní jazykovou přípravu a zároveň seznamuje studenty se základními dovednostmi potřebnými k úspěšnému zvládnutí prezentace v anglickém jazyce.Předmět je zakončen zápočtem a zkouškou. Ústní zkouška probíhá formou prezentace.Kurz poskytuje studentům materiály k samostudiu. In our life, we very often have to talk about problems and try to solve them. The second part of unit one focuses on the language used when solving problems. -
WEEK THREE
Have you ever had to complain? You have probably been in a situation when you had to call your supplier and complain about the products. In the first part of unit two, we will look at some useful words and phrases that are used when complaining. -
WEEK FOUR
In week three you learned to complain on the phone. In week four we will look at writing letters of complaint. -
WEEK FIVE
Being able to understand and write safety rules and regulations is an important part of our working lives. The employer and employees should be aware of health and safety problems at a workplace. This week we will look at some harms and injuries caused by unsafe working conditions. We will learn different ways of expressing cause and result.

WEEK SIX
As we already know, safety rules and regulations are very important for both employers and employees. This week we will talk about accidents and incidents.

WEEK SEVEN
In engineering professions you will be asked to write reports on, for example, project results, research results, experiment results, etc. This week we will look at a report structure and some language used for writing it

WEEK EIGHT
Together with a report or an academic essay you usually have to submit an abstract. The aim of abstract is to summarise the information from report, article or paper. This week we will look at content of an abstract and try to write one.

WEEK NINE
In many professions, graphs are used to describe changes, development or just to illustrate. Being able to describe graphs, tables and visuals is an inevitable skill for an engineer. This week we will learn how to describe a graph and try to do it.

WEEK TEN
Almost every day we compare and contrast different things. This part of unit 16 focuses on comparing and contrasting ideas.

WEEK ELEVEN
In business presentations are an important and effective means of communication. Very often our presentation skills are the most important key to selling products, ideas or persuading people. In this unit you will go through several important elements for making an effective presentation.

In the last part of the last unit we will look at the body part of a presentation and a conclusion.
