Forum: Pros and Cons of the LHC
Based on what you have learned while completing the reading tasks in Section 4 and the listening task in section 5, give your opinion on the LHC in this forum. Answer at least two of the questions below and respond to at least one contribution of a fellow student.
1) In your opinion, is the LHC project important? Does it generate data that is important for us? If so, how is the data important?
2) Do you believe in the Standard Model and the Big Bang theory explaining the very beginning of our Universe? Are there any weak points about this theory? If so, what weak points?
3) What is your opinion on the huge amount of information generated by the CERN project? How should the data be dealt with in order not to miss anything important?
4) Do you think the LHC can generate a dangerous black hole we should be afraid of?
5) What do you think about Haramein´s opinion on the research of subatomic particles? Is it possible that our reality can contain both subatomic particles that can be infinitely divisible and at the same time objects that can be infinitely large? If so, what do you think about the fact that current physics seems to have separate theories explaining the rules of the microworld and macroworld? Shouldn´t these theories be unified?
