Writing: The Poem

Read the poem below with special attention paid to the tenses used. After reading it, personalize the poem by changing the bold-faced sections so that they are true about you. For example, you can think about your field of study and how you have arrived at it. Or you can write about some of the projects you have been working on for some time and you think will be successful in the future. If you cannot think of any ways to personalize the poem, you can simply think of any invention/discovery you have recently heard about and present it as your own (but, of course, you need to cite the source of the information).

I have been carrying this idea around with me for years.

I have been dreaming of it since I was small.

I have thought it over at least a thousand times.

And one day I think I will fulfil my dream:

To write my own little book with lots of fairy tales in it.
