- Cars with more than one source of acceleration.
- Currently, the term HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) is used for a solution that combines an internal combustion engine (ICE) with one or more electric motors as a source of accelerating force.
- Energy storage devices are a fuel tank and an electric battery.
- Two basic HEV structures:
- serial,
- parallel.
