Course Content
Course Content
The course is based on the coursebook titled Technical English 4 by David Bonamy (Pearson Longman, 2013) and is organized in the same way, covering units 1 to 5. Therefore, the majority of this online course content is the same as the material covered in your contact AEL5 classes. This means that even the classroom teachers running the AEL5 course are encouraged to use the material of this online course during their face-to-face classes if needed. However, in contrast to the coursebook, this online course is supplemented with extra listening and reading comprehension tasks, grammar and vocabulary exercises and explanatory sections presenting new vocabulary and grammar points. In addition, the course will give you an opportunity to express your opinion on a variety of technical topics, both in speaking and writing. We hope you will enjoy the time spent here while improving your language skills.
Acknowledgments
I would like to thank my colleagues Joan DeForeest, M.A. for proofreading the entire course material, and Varvara Golovatina, Ph.D. for uploading the majority of the material into the Moodle learning management system. Were it not be for their invaluable help, this course would not be possible.
