Dear students,
you are entering the course which is an introductory level course in Physical Geography of the Czech Republic. We will focuse on natural conditions of the landscape in the Czech Republic from the different points of view (geology, geomorphology, climate, hydrogeography, biogeography, pedogeography, environmental issues). The palaeogeographical development of the CR in the European context is also an essential part of the course. It will help you to understand why the Czech landscape is so diverse, why Czech citizens don't have a fear of earthquakes but have a fear of floods, and what causes weather differences even if our country is so small. I challenge you to join me on an exploration of the complex, and exciting landscape of Czechia!
