Remember that usually, people are aware that there are differences between cultures. What is normal for one group of people, is strange to another - and that is totally normal (Wouldn't it be boring if we all did the same things?). Instead of viewing those differences as borders or trying to ignore that they exist, we can try to openly approach people by being curious, friendly, and respectful. Many people are happy to share specialties about their culture, so others can learn what their values and beliefs are.

Real-Life-Task: Watch yourself move through social interactions. What rules of communication and socialisation do you notice about your own culture and how might people from different cultures perceive these habits?

If you come across a situation where you perceive someone acting different than you would expect, and you assume a cultural backround, try out being curious, friendly, and respectful and show that person that you are interested in them (only if you feel comfortable in such social situations, of course).
