MECHANISMS OF SOCIALIZATION
= processes that act on the integration of an individual into society.
Imitation
Imitation of the external characteristics of our pattern.
- conscious imitation
The person imitates his pattern intentionally… For example, he dresses and uses words like a well-known singer, actor, athlete ...
- unconscious imitation
The individual does not realize he is imitating his pattern…. For example, a six-year-old daughter does not know she uses gestures like her mother.
In the early stages of ontogenesis, there are two special types of unconscious imitation: autistic reproduction and dependent behavioral matching. Both types serve to develop the child's communication skills. Autistic reproduction helps to train the muscles of speech organs. Child automatically imitates spoken speech - humming, babbling like.In dependent behavioral matching the child automatically imitates the expression of the face and the volume of the people on whom it is dependent.
Identification
- internalising the attitudes, values and standards of our pattern.
Identification has several internal causes:
- defensive identification
- emotional identification
- projective identification
- rationalization of identification
- disintegration of identification
- In defensive identification, I identify myself with someone who has power over me. It can be a dominant parent or a boss.
- Emotional identification means that I identify with someone to whom I have an intense emotional charge. Usually they are parents, a life partner. Emotional identification is much to be seen when we fall in love.
- Projective identification can be imagined as a second degree of emotional identification. It means I can see the world with the other person's eyes. It arises if I live with someone for a long time (eg. grandmother with a grandfather) or if I experience a crisis situation with someone.
- Rational identification is based on rational reasoning. Based on rationalization, we observe the laws.
- Disintegration is the pathological form of identification. It means that the process of identification is not OK. These are the perpetrators of violent crimes like.
Suggestion
- uncritical acceptance of pattern values.
Uncritical acceptance means that we do not think about it. The atmosphere of the environment is affecting us. Very suggestive seemed to us when our parents read fairy tales. The fairy tales have taught us to distinguish between good and evil. Fairy tales have taught us that goodness will prevail.
Persuasion
- Effect on the rational component. Persuasion does not work much, but we remember it most.
Social activities
Social activities are activities in which a person is socialized. There are three: - playing, - learning, - work.
- The play is the predominant social activity of preschool children.
- The learning is the predominant social activity of school-age children.
- The work is the predominant social activity of adults.
