Positionality is not a confession and it is not a disqualification. It is a working correction: knowing that your view is partial in particular directions, so that you can look in those directions on purpose rather than hoping the gap will not matter. The most useful thing in this section is probably the smallest one. The question is not who caused this, which in structural situations reliably finds nobody and makes everyone defensive on the way, but what am I positioned to do, which is answerable even when the answer is modest. If your honest response to the note was that you are positioned to do very little, and you named the little, you have understood the section better than someone who proposed a working group. The last section asks what to do with that, and begins from the fact that every available option, including doing nothing, moves risk onto somebody.
