Experimental diagnosis
Dear students, welcome to the Experimental diagnosis course
-
Brief historical excursion
-
-
Here you can see a lecture from prof. Jim Richards about the art of not being trapped in a statistics.
-
-
-
This paper is mentioned in ppt above.
-
This paper is mentioned in ppt above. and using IMU with clinical impact.

This chapter will cover the methods commonly used to asses muscle activity and function. This includes the techniques used to record electomyographic (EMG) singals, the best pracites for obtaining good-quality EMG singnals, and methods fot the analysis and interpretaion of the EMG recording.
-
Generation of EMG signal and force production, MUAPT - Motor Unit Action Potencional Train
-
See article in Journal of Neurophysiology describing method of dEMG and its use.
-
-
-
In the video you can see a clinical aplication and clinical impact of motion analysis in patients with osteoarthrosis
-
See aplication of motion analysis systems in patients with ACL disorder and aplication of the knowledge to the clinical practice.
-
This webinar focuses on the combination of innertial measurment unit and EMG in research and show us use of achieved knowledge in clinical practice.
-
This webinar is showing us, where is possible to use EMG systems. In the webinar are including following topcis: What is muscle force and where it comes from - neural control, its challanges and recommendation.
Demonstration of EMG analysis and few recent motor unit control information.

I sincerely hope that this course showed you a options how to quantify such a qualitative branch of medicine as physiothepy is. There will always be an interpersonal and intrapersonal variability and it is not possible to avoid classical palpation and aspection assesment. But there are some additional assesment and evaluation techniques, which are able to quantify such a unstable and individual parametr included in human motor control and motion and I hope you will know about them.
