Assignments

All work needs to be word-processed (unless specified otherwise) in the format appropriate for that assignment. You are required to complete the assigned readings and assignments prior to each meeting. Your assignments are due on the day specified on the syllabus (unless specified otherwise).  The purpose of our meetings is to review and apply the knowledge you gain as you explore the study materials.

Here are the course requirements:

  • Participation in class meetings 30%
    • If you miss more than three classes you are to take an additional credit test at the end of the semester.
    • If you are a full time ZS or SS teacher your credit test will be replaced with an additional teaching related assignment.
  • Individual assignments 60%
  • Terminology logs 10% - This is your list of terms/terminology specific to the various topics. While reading materials about language teaching, you will come across terms that are specific to language teaching. Keep a note of these along with a brief explanation. You decide which ones you consider useful to be familiar with. However, I would expect you to include terms that are in bold or italicas print in the reading materials.

To receive credit, you must achieve at least 75% of the total points.

P.S. If you cannot attend our class meetings, submit all your assignments at once by Dec 10 . Exceptions may apply to full time ZS or SS teachers.
