Course content
This course develops problem-solving competences for employability in the context of community engagement. It focuses on the ability to analyse complex situations, recognise personal and transferable competences, communicate effectively with different stakeholders, identify relevant social and psychological resources, and respond constructively to uncertainty, disagreement, and change.
Throughout the course, participants will work with realistic community and professional scenarios that involve diverse perspectives, competing priorities, limited resources, and collaborative decision-making. The course combines employability-related skills with community engagement by helping participants reflect on the roles and competences they can contribute to collaborative initiatives, communicate their ideas and strengths clearly, mobilise networks and support systems, and develop resilience and adaptability.
The course is organised around five interconnected areas:
-
Community Engagement and Diversity
-
Self-Perception, Roles, and Transferable Competences
-
Communicating Competences and Initiatives
-
Social Resources, Networks, and Support Systems
-
Psychological Resources: Resilience, Adaptability, and Coping
Together, these areas support the development of transferable skills that are relevant across academic, professional, civic, and community settings.
