Section outline

  • What makes an interaction feel genuinely open and welcoming?
If we pay more attention and assume less, how does our communication change?
How can small choices affect who feels included?

In this section, you are invited to explore these questions by focusing on communication in everyday situations. Building on the previous modules (topics 1&2), the emphasis now shifts to interaction: how we speak, listen and create space for others.

You will engage with a visual infographic introducing key dimensions of inclusive communication—language, interaction and environment—followed by a short interactive activity where you reflect on how different situations may feel to others.

Rather than offering fixed formulas, the aim is to help you notice how communication can either open or limit participation.

At the end of the section, you will find a set of optional resources. You may wish to explore them if you would like to deepen your reflection.

You are expected to dedicate approximately 40 minutes to this section.

You may wish to take your time, allowing space to connect these ideas with your own communication practices.
