Throughout this module, we have explored three closely connected ideas.

First, that not everything is visible and that some barriers only become apparent when people try to participate.

Second, that access is uneven and that what feels simple for some may require additional effort, support or adaptation for others.

Finally, we have seen that participation depends not only on individuals, but also on the conditions in which interaction takes place, including environments, tools and implicit rules.

Together, these ideas invite us to move beyond first impressions, to recognise the diversity of experiences that shape participation, and to pay closer attention to the conditions that can either facilitate or limit inclusion.

What might change in our conversations if we became more aware of our assumptions and quick interpretations?

Developing this perspective is an important step towards creating more accessible, welcoming and inclusive communities.
