Information on your online portfolio
After going back and forth between different ways to handle your online portfolios, I decided to use a Google site as our platform for the portfolio. It is similar to using a Google drive, but it also gives you the option of inserting comments and texts in addition to uploading files.
For English language teaching classes (collecting students homework, giving out assignments, sharing materials), I would recommend free versions of Showbie or SeeSaw apps. However, for the purpose of our class, the Google site seems the best possible way to go at this point.
I have set a Google site and will give everyone so called page-level permissions. With your page-level permissions, you will only be able to control your page.
To upload documents to your online folder, you will need to have a Google account. It doesn’t mean that you have to have an email account with Google. You can set up your account here: https://accounts.google.com
Email me your email address that you use for your Google account. I will give you the permissions which will give access to your page and folder. This set up will be used through the end of your studies.
Let me know if you have any questions or difficulties with the system. We are all learning at this point and it is expected that there will be challenges for all of us.
